An hour’s drive from Las Vegas east is a town called Boulder City. It became what it is due to a bunch of guys in the 1930s dumping concrete into the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada. The town once was teeming with roughneck dam builders… dam roughneck builders?
Anyway, they have a sizable Veterans Memorial Park with this quite unique 3 dimensional flag made of steel with polished stars and stripes. In the center of the flag is a cut-out of the saluting serviceman. The flag is maybe 10” -16” thick, so it presents a wonderful eye-catcher.
I selected a section of the flag to photograph… the stars against the sky.
