Woot! Thanks a million Janine! :D
If the pole was tall enough the corkscrew will be to prevent vortex shedding, although that’s usually just an issue with hollow metal poles. It splits up the wind as it blows by to stop low pressure building on the other side and causing the pole to bend.
See…. I knew someone much smarter than I would know why! Awesome! Yes, this area gets very high winds, and the poles are fashioned in sets of two, positioned like the letter ‘V’ on a minimal anchor point. It makes sense now you wouldn’t want a lot of twisting due to winds, or vortex shedding. Thanks a million!
You never know what you’ll find in the alleyways of Las Vegas… sometimes you wish you hadn’t seen what you saw… *chill up the spine*… In this case it was a furniture marker pointing the way to an apparent “doo doo daddy”. Oh Las Vegas, you never cease to amaze me with the odd things you wear so proudly on you lapel!
A newly installed high power (500 KV, if I recall correctly) power pole had an interesting feature to it… a corkscrew metal wrapping. Seemed rather odd, but I’m certain that some engineer had a good reason for it, other than to perplex drivers. Located along a very dull, and long, and straight highway 93 north of North Las Vegas, NV.
These remind me of Christmases when my Dad was around.
Wow… that’s put a big smile on my face. Thank you :)

Stop by Atomic Liquors and grab yourself a shot of Vegas Vodka. Painted on the side of the building, the lighting was very eye catching. A great establishment… catch the video in the link.
A Taiko drummer at a recent fundraiser in Las Vegas near Fremont Street. Quite an amazing amount of precision and lots of emotion in their drumming.
Two of the Sin Sity Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at a fundraiser in downtown Las Vegas near the El Cortez casino/hotel last weekend. The sisters aren’t typically someone you’d want to tussle with! Pictured are Mother Loosy Lust Bea Lady (R) and Sister Nina Novena O Kink Us In Kind (L). Unfortunately, not entirely certain who the person in the center was. A good group the sisters are!

And thank you so much. I very much appreciate the feedback :)
I love to share the sights I see from the areas I frequent; not a lot of people see the views of Las Vegas like I do :)
